The Chinese art of feng shui is based on balance and the constant flow of positive energy. Proper lighting can bring about that positive flow of energy. Here are a few tips on where and how to use proper lighting and the purpose of the use of that lighting.

Consider your goal and make it the center of your living room by applying light to something that symbolizes that goal will make the positive energy flow toward that goal. A fireplace can be a source of centralized light as a fireplace is a symbol of closeness and warmth. You want the light here to create a happy mood.There are all sorts of lighting sources available and proper lighting is no longer dependant entirely upon that incandescent bulb in the middle of a table lamp. There are many beautiful sconces and wall lamps as well as standing lamps that can do the job of giving the room that positive energy flow.
